Dive into basic metalsmithing techniques in this project-based introduction to metalsmithing and sculpture. Projects will focus on functional objects made with metal, ranging from wall hooks to small fabricated vessels. A material kit is required and can be purchased on the first day of class.

Dive into basic metalworking techniques in this project-based introduction to metalsmithing and jewelry. Each week, you will create a new project ranging from band rings to bracelets. Each project is designed to be completed within that class. A material kit is required and can be purchased on the first day.

Prerequisite: One session of Metals 1 or instructor approval.

Students will learn metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, forming, soldering, and finishing processes outside the contexts of jewelry-making! Through demos and in-class assignments, students will apply those techniques towards mini sculptural objects.
