On May 1, 2025, Donald Trump passed an executive order to cease federal funding for public broadcasting NPR and PBS citing “...neither entity presents a fair, accurate, or unbiased portrayal of current events to taxpaying citizens”.
On July 18, 2025, Congress officially voted to defund public media.
I’m anxious, angry, and sad to see NPR and PBS on the federal-funding-chopping-block considering how valuable these resources are to the public — and for all the good they have done for me in my life. I’m worried about what will follow defunding public services. I want NPR and PBS to continue the important work they do: providing news reporting, cultural programming, educational programming, and quality children’s programming… for free.
80% of this fundraiser’s sales will go to NPR and PBS. The remaining 20% will go towards overhead costs for metal, pin sets, shipping materials and time making pins/processing orders.
